The final field and barrier draw has been released for the Group 1 CF Orr Stakes at Caulfield Racecourse this Saturday February 11, 2012.
Black Caviar will face eight challengers in the race, including Caulfield Cup winner Southern Speed and Kingston Town Stakes winner Playing God.
The queen of Australian racing will face a hard task to maintain her current world sprint rating of 132 in the 2012 CF Orr Stakes, with VRC handicapper Greg Carpenter predicting she would need to win by at least eight lengths to keep it.
“It will be hard to replicate her sprinting rating,” Carpenter said.
“I think she must win by about eight or 10 lengths to get anywhere near 132.
“It is hard to see Luke Nolen pushing her right out to such a big margin if she is five lengths in front and a certain winner, especially with such a long campaign ahead.
Black Caviar will be looking to claim her 18th win from as many starts and add to her current prize money pool of more than $4.4 million.
The Bel Esprit Mare has drawn well in barrier five for the 2012 CF Orr Stakes and will be ridden by regular jockey Luke Nolen.
Southern Speed will be looking to recreate her last start victory in the Listed John Dillon Stakes, which she won by almost a length.
The four-year-old mare has won five of her 14 race starts and has earned more than $1.9 million in prize money.
Southern Speed will be ridden by jockey Craig Williams in the 2012 CF Orr Stakes and will jump from gate eight.
Efficient, Midas Touch, Precedence and Illo are also included in the 2012 CF Orr Stakes final field and barrier draw.
